Located in Meandarra, in the Western Darling Downs region of Queensland, Elite Charolais & Simmentals is run by principals Glen and Kim.

The Charolais stud was established in 2005 with foundation females primarily sourced from the well-esteemed Palgrove, Moongool and Gobongo Studs. In the initial stages, Elite Charolais was also run in conjunction with Kindara Charolais, owned and operated by Glen’s parents, Bill and Sue Waldron.

Cattle numbers increased dramatically in 2013 when Kindara Charolais dispersed and we purchased a large selection of what he considered to be their top-end females. These selections were based on them having well-established cow families and their own proven performance over the years.

More recently, Elite Cattle Co has also branched out into black & red Simmentals after a trip to Canada in 2013 where we discovered the impact that solid coloured Simmetals could have on the beef industry in Australia.

Genetics were initially sourced from two leading herds in Canada; Rancier Farms and Mader Ranches.  We also purchased a foundation donor cow in Tullatoola Wendy E5 from BST Dispersal Sale.

Outside of the stud, we are both kept busy with our other chosen professions. Glen works with GDL in Meandarra as a livestock agent and Kim is a qualified veterinarian with a passion for large animal work.
